The Dcode and Ncode Programme is a structured literacy programme designed for dyslexic and struggling readers. It follows a clear, systematic sequence and supports pupils with decoding, spelling, fluency and confidence.

These samples are provided to help you understand the structure, teaching approach and progression of the programme.
Dcode Programme Samples
Dcode Book 1 introduces CVC short vowel words and the early stages of structured decoding.
Dcode Book 2 develops blending and reading accuracy through carefully sequenced activities.
Dcode Book 3 introduces long vowels and continues the step-by-step progression.
Further samples from Dcode Books 4–8 can be provided on request.
Ncode Spelling Manual Sample
Ncode supports spelling and encoding. It is designed to work alongside the Dcode reading programme and helps pupils understand the structure of words through explicit, systematic teaching.
Decodable Reader Samples
The Dcode decodable readers give pupils controlled reading practice using words and patterns they have already been taught. This helps build confidence, fluency and success.
Teacher Guidance Sample
The teacher guidance material gives practical direction on the scope and sequence of the programme, which will help you structure lessons, and support pupils as they move through the sequence.
Reader Screening
Mary Moran’s reader screening tests file helps identify where a pupil may need support and can help inform the starting point within the programme.
Training Videos
